The Credit Manager at American Metals Corporation is responsible for overseeing the credit department’s daily operations and long-term activities. Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer the day-to-day activities of the credit department.
  • Establish, review, or revise credit limits by analyzing financial statements and credit reports.
  • Monitor monthly balances and past due statuses of individual accounts.
  • Assist with posting cash and manage hold screens as needed.
  • Review monthly reports and analyze financial statements to evaluate credit risks.
  • Advise management on large credit exposures and potential bad debts.
  • Analyze bad debt exposure and recommend changes to reserve requirements.
  • Place accounts for collection and direct actions of collection agencies or attorneys.
  • Maintain credit files for permanent reference.
  • Adhere to safety processes and protocols.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of business concepts and principles related to credit management (business administration, economics, finance, or accounting).
  • Ability to calculate financial figures accurately (ratios, rates, percentages).
  • Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on analysis and judgment.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers and customers.
