Fireside Chat: AI in Credit & Collections - From Idea to Impact

What does an AI journey actually look like for a credit and collections team? In this engaging, conversational “fireside chat,” Andrei will share his experience exploring how artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making can be applied to the credit function - from the initial spark of interest to developing and implementing an AI-based tool within his organization.
Rather than focusing solely on one company’s success story, the discussion will explore how credit professionals can think about AI, where it may create opportunities, and what considerations should come before implementation. We’ll begin with Andrei’s experience at Harvard studying Data-Driven Decision Making with AI and what prompted him to consider AI for Credit and Collections. From there, the conversation will transition into his organization’s use case, including how the tool was developed, how the Credit team and leadership responded, and the business impact seen so far.

Through guided questions and real-world examples, attendees will explore topics such as:

Instructor:  Andrei Shchekin, CICP
Andrei is a finance professional with more than 10 years of experience in the U.S. and internationally. Earlier in his career, he worked with leading management consulting firms, including Deloitte and PwC, where he focused on transforming clients’ Finance functions. That experience played an important role in shaping his professional approach. He had the opportunity to work alongside high-performing teams across different industries, implement leading practices, and help organizations rethink how their Finance functions operate.
Andrei later transitioned into an in-house leadership role, motivated by the opportunity to have greater ownership of implementation and drive measurable business results over time. Today, he is a practicing Finance leader managing several operational finance functions, including Credit & Collections. As AI has evolved rapidly, Andrei has also expanded his focus to developing practical AI-enabled tools and solutions. He is currently exploring how AI can reimagine traditional Finance and Credit processes, improve decision-making, and create more efficient ways of working.
